Titanium and titanium alloys are widely used in machinery fasteners, marine equipment, chemical industry, medical devices and aerospace fields due to their lightweight, high strength, excellent corrosion resistance and stable mechanical performance. Different titanium grades have obvious differences in strength, ductility, processing performance and service conditions. Reasonable grade selection helps balance product quality, safety and cost.
Pure Titanium (TA Series / Commercial Pure Titanium)
Pure titanium features good formability, weldability and outstanding corrosion resistance, suitable for low-load and anti-corrosion working conditions.
TA1 / Grade 1
It has the highest purity and best ductility. It is easy for bending and precision processing. It is widely used for thin-wall parts, chemical pipes and precision corrosion-resistant accessories.
TA2 / Grade 2
It is the most universal industrial pure titanium grade. It balances strength and corrosion resistance perfectly. It is the first choice for standard titanium fasteners, general mechanical parts and marine ordinary accessories with high cost performance.
TA10 / Grade 12
With improved acid and alkali corrosion resistance, it is suitable for sewage treatment equipment and harsh chemical environments.
Titanium Alloy (TC Series / High Strength Alloy)
TC series titanium alloys are strengthened by aluminum and vanadium elements, with high strength, high toughness and fatigue resistance, used for load-bearing and structural parts.
TC4 / Grade 5
It is the most versatile titanium alloy in the industry. It has stable comprehensive mechanical properties, excellent processing performance and good fatigue resistance. It is widely applied in high-strength fasteners, mechanical structural parts, automobile and aerospace components. It is the preferred grade for most industrial high-load scenarios.
TC4 ELI / Grade 23
Medical-grade ultra-low interstitial titanium alloy. It features low impurity content, non-toxic and excellent biocompatibility, specially used for medical devices and precision medical parts.
Special Titanium Grades for Extreme Conditions
High-temperature resistant grades such as TC11 are applicable for high-temperature equipment and aerospace parts. Beta titanium alloys provide ultra-high strength for heavy-load precision structural components.
Selection Principle
- For anti-corrosion and common industrial use: choose TA series pure titanium
- For high strength and general structural load: choose TC4 Grade 5
- For medical precision applications: choose TC4 ELI Grade 23
- For harsh chemical and marine environments: choose TA10
Correct grade selection can effectively avoid performance waste and unqualified risks, ensuring stable product performance and reasonable price for customers.
